Jamaican Jerk Sauce

It's Island Time! Really it's island time in my mind all of the time! Some of my best times was when I lived in Florida with the sunny blue skies and perfect weather. My Jamaican Jerk Seasoning blend really reminds me of eating some bbq on the beach. The spicy heat from the red pepper to the warmth of spices like cinnamon and allspice really wakes of the senses to give you heat with plenty of flavor! Jerk sauce is a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, patties, oxtails, mushrooms and even drizzled on top of tacos. 

 

Jamaican Jerk Sauce

1 cup Ketchup

1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar

10 dashes Worcestershire Sauce

2 Tbsp Jerk Seasoning

Combine all the ingredients together in a small sauce pan. Heat sauce over medium heat, simmer for 5 minutes. Be sure to stir often to prevent sticking. Use immediately or let cool and store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
